The Forgotten Fable.

wp-image-1554278568jpg.jpg

Ever been in love,
That felt more than right
Gave you an ache in heart
Each time, it looked far in sight?

Such love, whose eyes
Glittered brighter than sunlight
Whose idiocy never seemed to you
Ever child-like?

A love that’s gone so far
That you have forgotten that time
Of an indelible walk, you took
Alone on that Sunday night?

A time when you just lived each day
To see her merry and thrived
Remember the time, it took you to get over
The feeling that kept you in tears, being deprived?

The ridiculous reasons you came up with
To witness that melting smile
Never thought you’ll move ahead,
But you did, didn’ t you, and kept going just fine?

Was it the lack of touch, or the time
That never bothered about, what was left behind
You lost all contact and began striding
A new life that came to your way, you started to abide

Now it’s been so long,
Since you saw her deep black eyes,
You can’t remember a thing,
The time took care, of the ache inside.

But you wonder, why still she
Sometimes shows up, in your late night dreams
She’s been gone so long, so far away
But she’s somehow still there, like a hazy souvenir

And you still wonder, what would you do
If came across her someday, on an afternoon
On the opposite platform, waiting for the train,
While you are as usual, running late?

Would you make the effort,
And shout out loud
Make for the time you two lost,
A conversation you dreamt of so long?

Or would you just see her
And just see her some more
Honor the distance between
Like an ocean, you can’t cross?

Maybe you’ll catch that train,
And leave her on that shore,
Of a story that never happened
Figment of your imagination, it was of course.

You thought she left,
But now you know she never will,
Unlike the memories, it’s the warmth of the first love
That stays, for you to timelessly adore and cherish.

For the first love, that makes you smile. Once in a while.

For him.

Taken at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

Taught as we talked
Held the hand, as we walked
Told to dream as high,
Don’t fret in case you fell by.

For I shall be here, looking over
Will catch you, else see you fly and hover
The same words now took a turn,
Ask to mute, left to yearn.

Fly alone, caged the dreams,
No regret, no try to see,
The weeping kid who was made to believe,
Glorious tales of courageous men made to relive.

Unstoppable by any force on way,
Now battling with the same faith.
Told to dream as high, said
Looking at the same love now, in dread.

Froth & Coffee

She found life too patiently easy
Though her meaning of existence was hazy
A cup of coffee, she drank just for sake
To get through each day, rouse and awake

She asked them wondering
What about it was so alluring
Just a beverage to stay up, all it was for her
That people craved for no reason, that much

Then it hit her,
Maybe something was wrong
Though ingredients on point
What if the pattern’s not strong

She ran the milk in the mixer
Set it separate, to let the froth hover
Heated the water, to the coffee in mug
Added cocoa in it, for a splendid touch

Emptied the hot milk over the mix
Into the mug, like art on a fix
Stirred the sugar as it melted in whirl
Ending with froth over the rising swirl

As she sipped it, she found love
The relentless seek for meaning was done
For now she knew life has ingredients all the same
Matters how they are proceeded with, that determines the taste.

For the love of coffee and its connoisseurs.

One, Two, Three!

Art.

Taken in New Delhi, India.

The man, who knew how to look at the sky
Notice the peculiarity of time passing by
Feel the depth of words in verse
Savour the lights and sounds in rehearse

One who never saw the mountains high
Yet spoke of its beauty, acquainted with each stone in its might
Didn’t see paintings as just work on the wall,
Music as an alibi for boredom at all

For he had his own outlook to the world
Nevertheless different, yet completely unheard of
Art was his muse, and words his weapon
A new perspective, awaiting a take over the cosmos.

Mind the gap

Picture taken in Art Couture, Gurgaon.

Every tale been told many times
What different can I put in this rhyme
Craving and yearning for something more,
How to feed this relentless lure

Irreplaceable history to adore
Splendor at its best in every oeuvre
Works of legends to inspirit,
Succinctly murmuring me to quit

Then I look to people around,
All the same, yet different to sound
Classic inspiration in nature’s way,
Beauty of differences in similarities lay.

Mind the Gap

Dreamer’s Sojourn

Commences a salvation of brief
Romance of solace, fading grief
As the eyes doze off, a rove ascends
With no junctions to board, just transcend

Wandering into the dreams
A sailing boat in an ocean without cease
With limits like the sky
Boundless and unending up high

Painting the horizon up so close
Caressing the water, leaving the shore
The sun calls out like a lover upfront
Promising to meet again, on time assured

The shining stars arrive
Glittering and shimmering a tale of might
At distance so far away
Singing ballads of galaxies on the way

And as the promised beau arrives again
The stars bid the dreamer au revior
Rising on velvet cushion
A fáilte to another world, to say.

Magic

Myth of love

Meant to ease the pain
It always seems a way
To make every morning make sense
Endless attempts in vain

But why is it that agony ends up more
With added love in the core
Meant to ease the pain
Just enduring the suffering more.

Once again,
Meant to ease the pain
Looking for love we went
Bought down on knees, yet again.

So where does it end then
The search without gain
Pursuit of constancy, meant to ease the pain
Or a myth of love, again?
